For students in the high school graduating class of 2021: The standardized testing deadline to qualify for the Promise Scholarship has been extended from August 2021 to October 31, 2021. Colleges and universities statewide are continuing to offer free ACT On-Campus exams; dates and times are posted at www.wvhepc.edu/act-on-campus-exams. This page will be continuously updated as additional test dates are scheduled. For students in the 2021 and 2022 high school graduating classes: Applicants applying for 2021-22 and 2022-23 Promise eligibility may use a superscore to achieve the minimum standardized testing scores. Superscoring allows students to take their top score from subsections of various ACT or SAT exam dates and combine them for a higher overall score. Superscores will automatically be calculated based upon the individual test scores received by the WV Higher Education Policy Commission. For students in the high school graduating class of 2021, receiving the Promise Scholarship for the first time in 2021-22, the test score requirements have been lowered as follows: ACT composite score - 21 (regularly 22); ACT English score - 19 (regularly 20); ACT Reading score - 19 (regularly 20); ACT Science score - 19 (regularly 20); ACT Math score - 19 (regularly 20). SAT composite score - 1080 (regularly 1100); SAT Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing score - 510 (regularly 530); SAT Math score - 510 (regularly 520). An applicant must meet all eligibility requirements for the Promise Scholarship to qualify. All other requirements for Promise scholarship eligibility remain in place and can be found on www.cfwv.com/promise, and on CollegeforWV.com, which is a newly launched companion website specifically for all WV state-sponsored financial aid programs. The first face many students see in the morning and the last face when the school day is finished is often a school bus driver. This extends into summer in MCS as Bus Driver Dave Butcher and Bus Aide Ginger Joliffe are just a few of the hardworking teams supporting our students.

Helping students be healthy in the summer, MCS Child Nutrition Program Director Terri Atha reminds families a child under 18 may register to receive a 7-day meal kit by Multitude Foods, which is delivered to doorsteps by FedEx. Register by July 19 at https://www.marionboe.com/.

These two are among over 3,200 Marion County youth, age 18 and under, who have registered for and are receiving a delivery of 7 days worth of breakfast and lunch items on their doorstep by a private company contracted by MCS as part of the summer feeding program.

Volleyball live period will start Monday July 12th from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Fairmont Senior Field House. Each player must bring knee pads, court shoes and a drink. If you have any COVID symptoms, please stay home until you are symptom free.
