Many parents have been asking what supplies their children need for the start of school. With being a middle school and switching classes that is hard to answer. Some teachers request supplies that are specific to their class. Teachers always send home those requested lists the first day of school. However, to get you started, we have listed basic supplies that could be helpful to every student at the start of school.
Fifth grade and other new student orientation will take place on Monday, August 23rd beginning at 10 am.
New Student Registration at East Fairmont Middle will be August 11th and 12th from 9 am to 1 pm.
Upcoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who were interested in running cross country have been working out with Coach Kettler and Coach Hibbs during the 3 week live period. Other students interested in running can still join when practices start next week. Please see previous post for information.
There are only a little under 30 days left until MCS students, grades 1 through 12, are back in session Tuesday, August 24. K and Pre-K students will begin Thursday, August 26. The 5-full days weekly schedule begins Monday, August 30. #MCSgetbackinthegame

The following practice schedule will be for the week of August 2 - 10.
No tryouts for Cross Country, but 1.5 and 2 mile time trials will be scheduled throughout the week!

Tuesday: 9-10:15 @ East Fairmont High School (Meet by Softball Field)
Wednesday: 9-10:15 @ Morris Park (Pavillion 2)
Thursday: 9-10:15 @ East Fairmont High School (Meet by Softball Field)
Friday: 9-10:15 @ Prickett's Fort (Lower Lot)
Saturday: 9-10:00 East Fairmont High School (Meet by Softball Field)
Volleyball will be having tryouts on August 16th from 5 to 7 pm for any girls entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade interested in playing and will begin practice after that!

While we hope that our students have been enjoying some fun in the sun, we've been hard at work here at East Middle making some needed improvements and upgrades. One improvement is the new sign that was installed at the entrance to our parking lot.
"Hornets" learn about birds during specialized instruction from Special Educator Mrs. Adkins at East Fairmont Middle School this summer. The students are doing a hands-on project by building bird feeders from recycled products. #MCSgetbackinthegame
