Our boys’ basketball teams are enjoying a group outing today.

Please join us Monday, February 28th at 5 pm for our next PTO meeting. Those who are available to attend in person are welcome to join us in the cafeteria. We will also be posting information on Monday about an online option for those that are unable to attend in person, so please look for that option if you are interested. On Friday, February 25th, Marion County Schools will be holding their ribbon cutting ceremony for the new STEAM lab that will be housed at our annex gym building across Alta Vista Avenue from East Fairmont Middle. This ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place between 11 am and 12:30 pm. Due to this, we are expecting increased congestion and lack of available parking during that time. Please be aware of this if you need to visit East Fairmont Middle during the day on Friday.

East Fairmont Middle 8th grade students met with a counselor from the high school today to discuss their high school scheduling. Parents please ask your child to get on their google classroom and discuss scheduling options with you as they prepare to make these decisions.

East Fairmont Middle School girls' softball sign-ups are currently available in the main office. Girls in grades 6-8 that are interested in playing softball can sign up and pick up their registration packet in the office. Tryouts will be February 28th and 29th but there might be a few flex days utilized prior to that so the sooner the girls get signed up the better!

Join us next week on our PBIS Road Trip! A 2nd nine-week reward will be given daily during homeroom for those who met expectations. *Monday - We're heading south to Florida for a Beach Day. Dig out those summertime clothes! (School dress code must still be met!) *Tuesday - Go west to Montana and giddy up for a great day in your western wear. *Wednesday - We're on to Hollywood, setting the state for sucess! Show us your red carpet looks or dress as your favorite movie character. (Must follow dress code.) *Thursday - Back east to Nashville, Tennessee - Music City! Wear your favorite music shirt or dress as your favorite music artist. (Dress code appropriate that is!) *Friday - Country Roads Take Us Home! Show your Mountaineer Pride in Blue and Gold or WVU Spirit Wear!

As you know the nine weeks has officially ended, however it has been a very hectic end to the semester. Due to all of the snow days and quarantines, we have made the decision to push back printing report cards until next Friday. This will give our teachers a chance to finalize some things before we print. Thank you for your patience, they are coming soon!!!

As of right now, the county spelling bee is scheduled for 6pm on Thursday, January 20th at East Fairmont High School. If we receive any updates, we will be sure to share!

Congratulations to the two eighth graders who were deemed the tennis champs at the end of their tennis unit that will wrap up their semester of phys ed!

Based upon the documented positive student COVID-19 cases of 10 percent or greater of 7th grade as of January 11, 2022, the East Fairmont Middle School 7th grade is closed for a 7 day period beginning Friday, January 14. Students in 7th grade at EFMS will return to classes if symptom free on Friday, January 21. Students will receive assignments for this time period via google classroom and/or livegrades and staff will be available during regular school hours to answer questions (their health permitting.). There are no extracurricular activities for the 7th grade students during that time period. All staff report.

Tonight’s girls’ basketball match up against West Fairmont Middle is cancelled. We will try to reschedule for a later date.

8th grade students are currently learning some tennis basics during their phys ed classes.

Games held @ WFMS Thursday - Sports Day - Favorite Teams Jersey. Girls’ JV starts at 5:45 and Varsity at 7:00. Games held at EFMS Friday - Casual Friday - Sweats or PJs Students must follow the school dress code. All clothing must be school appropriate.
