"BEE our GUEST"... Our Second Grade Cluster hosted a visit from Mrs. Lynette Swiger, proprietor of FernFaye Farm, a local farm on Bunner Ridge specializing in cut flowers, herbs, fruit, local beef, and honey. During her visit, Mrs. Swiger modeled for the young gardeners how to harvest seeds from fading blooms. After modeling the process, our learners “rolled their sleeves up” and harvested some seeds from the withering flowers that Mrs. Swiger brought with her from her farm.

Psychedelic Day... For National School Lunch Week, our learning community was “tied and dyed” with excitement to see what was on the menu.

Flower Power… East Dale Elementary School “blossomed with flowers” to launch Day 1 of their celebration of National School Lunch Week.

Kindergarten Chromebook Distribution... Ms. Nichols and Mrs. Casto distributed Chromebooks to our Kindergarten Familys during our recent Parent Teacher Conference Night.

Academic Coaching Sessions... Mr. Olsen, Learning 360 Guru, provided coaching sessions to our Professional Staff to ensure a "winning season" for our learners.

East Dale is looking for parents and grandparents to become read-aloud volunteers. If you can donate 15-20 minutes we would love to have you. East Dale Elementary is excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, which will take place from October 3, 2022-October 7, 2022. Additionally, we will host a family night on the same evening as our fall parent teacher conference October 6, 2022, from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

Please remember that instruction begins at 8:30am and dismissal is at 3:10pm. Unless you have an appointment, please make it a priority to have your learner at school on time and leave once instruction is over at 3:10pm. Instruction is imperative for future learning and ongoing success!!

Patriotism… For Constitution Week, our “constitutional framers” compared their Classroom Constitution to the U.S. Constitution.

Patriotism… For Constitution Week, Mrs. Williams’ Kindergarteners created “stars and stripes” headbands to reinforce their read aloud story, The Pledge of Allegiance.

Patriotism… For Constitution Week, our learners created American Flag Brace Maps in Media/Library. These maps are used to identify part-to-whole relationships of concrete objects.

Building Community... Our learners become familiar with one another through various activities.

East Dale Families: During the period of Sept. 6-16, 2022, MCS will be administering a survey to students, teachers, and families. The WE SUPPORT Survey is designed to inform schools and districts about expectations and perceptions the community has about student learning. The survey is structured around three main areas: • Rigor • Relevance • Relationships To take the survey, parents/guardians do the following: • Go to www.wesurvey.org • Enter the case sensitive password that is unique to your child’s school (copy > paste works best): CMC8ED •When all questions have been answered, click Submit for your responses to be recorded. Thank you in advance for completing this survey by Sept. 16, 2022. You need to complete one for each school in which your children are enrolled, using the code for that building above. The insight you provide will be valuable in our ongoing efforts to improve student achievement. WE SUPPORT survey takes 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous, so please answer all questions honestly. Please try to provide your perceptions and expectations of your child’s school or district overall. Thank you.

“BEE Our Guest”… East Dale Elementary School’s PTO in collaboration with the East Dale Elementary School’s Staff welcomed the learning community back to school by hosting an “Ice Cream Social”.
