This is a Bison Herd Alert: Tomorrow is the last day for Santa's Secret Shop. Any student who did not visit today will be able to visit on Tuesday.
This is a Bison Herd Alert from Ms. Bombard: Parents, This text is to inform you that a possible case of bed bugs was recently reported at Barrackville School. Please rest assured that the health and safety of our students and staff are our top priority and we are taking all the necessary precautions to address the situation. While bedbugs are not known to transmit disease, they can be a nuisance. To help prevent the spread, please check your student's belongings, backpacks, jackets, and other personal items upon their return from school. Signs of bed bugs may include small brown or reddish spots, tiny white eggs, or actual bugs. Bed Bugs are the size of an apple seed and may hide in seams, folds, and crevices or materials. The following steps are being taken at school: A thorough inspection and cleaning of the affected area, working with pest control professionals to ensure the issue is addressed, and continued monitoring will be in place for future occurrences. If you have any signs of bed bugs at home or need advice on how to inspect your home, please refer to the information that will be sent home today from local health authorities or contact the health department.
This is a Bison Herd Alert: Christmas Spirit Week starts tomorrow! Monday is Channel your flannel. Tuesday is Tinsel Toes Tuesday -Christmas socks and slippers. Wednesday is Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree- Wear your favorite rock band t-shirt. Thursday is Dreaming of a White Christmas - Christmas PJs. Friday is Festive Friday-Ugly Christmas Sweaters. Also, the Builders Club is collecting items for the blessing box. Items can be turned in to Mrs. Sturm's room.

This is a Bison Herd Alert: The 7th grade will still travel to Pittsburgh to see A Christmas Carol tomorrow (Wednesday 12/11). Students are to report to the school's main entrance at 7:15 am. The bus will depart the school at 7:30am THERE WILL NOT BE TRANSPORTATION HOME FOR STUDENTS, YOU WILL NEED TO ARRANGE TO BE HERE AT THE SCHOOL TO PICK THEM UP at 3pm. We will update the school's Facebook page and send a text notification as we travel home.
This is a Bison Herd Alert: REMINDERS: The Barrackville Elementary Christmas Program will be held at the NMHS auditorium at 6:00pm on Friday, December 13th. Students are asked to arrive by 5:40pm.
The Barrackville Middle School Choir and Band concert will be at 7:00pm in the Fairview Middle School auditorium on Monday, December 16th. Students are asked to arrive by 6:30pm. For both events, please dress for success!
This is a Bison Herd Alert: If you are attending Christmas in Our Town and your child has lost or left a coat, jacket, sweatshirt, etc. at school, there will be a large lost and found box in the gym. Items left unclaimed will be donated on Monday. Thank you.
This is a Bison Herd Alert: Attention 8th Parents! Due to the Gettyburgh trip being postponed, eligible 8th-grade students are permitted to attend the WVU Education Day Reward on Friday. Dr. Perry will be sending permission slips through Livegrades. and is posting it in Google Classroom. Permission Slips MUST be returned Friday morning for students to attend. If you cannot print the permission slip, a handwritten one with the child's name, destination, date, and parent's signature will be accepted. No students will be permitted to call home for slips or verbal consent. We will be leaving the school at 8:40 am. Also, students MUST bring a cold lunch from home in a clear zip-lock bag. No cell phones are permitted and no additional money is needed. Students are not allowed to visit the concession.
