Governor Justice announced earlier today that state employees would not be required to report to work tomorrow, Friday, June 18, 2021, in observance of Juneteenth. Our employees are county employees, not state employees. Counties could make their own decision. The day has not yet been made an official school holiday per W. Va. Code 18A-5-2. Being mindful of summer programs previously scheduled for a required number of 16 days and planning for being off on Monday for WV Day, we would be unable to get in 16 days by June 30 if we missed another day. Therefore, it was decided to continue with our summer programming.

Our friends at DHHR would like to remind families expecting the upcoming non-student P-EBT (for children under the age of 6 in households that receive SNAP) to please watch your mailbox. A letter will be making its way to eligible families starting next week on Monday, June 7. Please DO NOT throw away this letter. It will have information you need to activate your card. Cards will be mailed separately and arrive between June 15 and July 15. The cards will come in a plain white envelope from a South Dakota return address.
