Title III - English Learners
Title III is part of the federal Every Child Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESSA is the 2015 re-authorization of the 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act, signed into law in 1965. ESSA reaffirms the national, state, and local commitment to help all students meet state academic standards. The purpose of the Title III program is to identify non-native speakers of English and to provide them with instructional support sufficient to learn and achieve on level with native English speakers.
Eugenia Reesman, Inez Hill, and James Storms are the instructors for English Learners in Marion County Schools. English Learners in Marion County speak a variety of languages including French, Korean, German, Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, Arabic, and East Indian.
