Marion County Healthy Grandfamilies Fall Sessions will begin Tuesday, September 27 and run through November 10. Sessions are scheduled from 5-7pm every Tuesday @ South Ridge Church and every Thursday @ Blackshere Elementary. A free meal and childcare are provided each session. Discussion topics include: Navigating the School System; Legal Aid; Coping with Addiction; Nutrition; Understanding Trauma & Behavior; Wellness & Self-care; Navigating Kinship & DHHR, and Internet, Social Media, & Technology. The RAZE crew at East Fairmont High School is making a mark. The student groupâs mission:
đ¨ raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use in all its various forms.
đ¨ change attitudes society has held onto for too long about tobacco use.
đ¨ fight back against the lies and manipulation in tobacco marketing.
đ¨ inspire people to break the addiction and start living tobacco-free.

Honoring one of their own who has been honored by Fairmont State University with the Alumni of Achievement Award this year, the staff and students of Fairview Middle School surprised Principal Rodriguez today in a special way.
We are honored to support Fairmont State University as we participate and distribute childrenâs books in the Homecoming parade tonight with our STEAM Bus. See us on the route or via live stream of the parade available on FSU Facebook page beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Itâs Homecoming Week in Husky Country and Blackshere Elementary students are supporting their favorite team, North Marion High School, during spirit week on âDisney Day!â

SUMMER FOOD AVAILABILITY SURVEY: Under the West Virginia Emergency School Food Act, passed into law in 2022, the WVDE is launching a statewide survey on food availability to children during the summer months.
