This is a Bison Herd Alert for 8th grade parents: This week our 8th grade students are visiting the Marion County Schools STEAM Lab. Ms. Perry's homeroom will go on Monday and Tuesday (8/28 & 8/29). Mrs. Luketic's homeroom will go on Wednesday and Thursday (8/30 & 8/31). If your child selected to bring a lunch from home, there is storage for regular lunchboxes so a brownbag is not needed. This is a Bison Herd Alert: Parent Pick-Up Participants: In an effort to keep traffic moving as much as we can- If your child requires a car seat that needs buckled at pick-up, please utilize the outer loop in the front ( closest to the building ). If you have a student who can enter the vehicle without needing assistance with buckling, please use the inner loop. Thank you so much!!!

This is a Bison Herd Alert: Students entering 7th & 12th grades for 2023-24 are required to have the Tdap & meningitis vaccines to return on the first day of school or to participate in summer practices/activities. Students may not attend school without proper verification of vaccines. PreK, K, 2nd, 7th, and 12th grades are required to show proof of Health and Dental exams. Please send documents to your child’s school as soon as possible. Also, state law requires that any student who has Emergency Medications ordered must have the medication administration form AND the medication available at school or the student may not attend school. Ensure these are given to the school nurse.

This is a Bison Herd Alert: New Student Registration will be on August 8th from 8-3 at the school. Families that are coming to register new students need to have the following documentation: Proof of Residency, Certificate of Live Birth, Proof of up-to-date immunizations, and Student Social Security Number. If you are registering a student for Kindergarten or Second Grade, you will also need proof of recent dental and well-child visits in addition to the documents mentioned above. If you are registering a student for the 7th grade, you must have proof of recentTdap & meningitis vaccines, dental and well-child visits in addition to the above-mentioned documents.

This is a Bison Herd Alert: Since Prime Days are upon us, some parents may want to get a jump start on school supplies. Our school supply lists can be found on our website. https://marioncountyboewv.sites.thrillshare.com/o/barrackville/documents/classroom-supply-lists/232689 We are uploading lists daily, so keep checking if you do not see your grade/class. We do understand that homeroom lists will not be released until the week before school starts, many of the lists are general and you can get started on those if you like. Students will certainly have time to pick up anything specific they may need during the first week of school.

Please take time to read a book, practice your math facts, relax, and recharge. If you need anything from the school, there will be personnel in the building tomorrow. Please call the office in the morning if you need to arrange a pick-up for materials or report cards. Thank you! The Herd is out for summer!

This is a Bison Herd Alert: personalized yearbook orders will be due on Tuesday, May 23rd. Non-personalized yearbook orders are due May 30th and checks need to be made payable to Barrackville Elementary/Middle School. If you have any questions, please contact Samantha Halpenny.

This is a Bison Herd Alert: Parents attending the middle school band and chorus concert tomorrow- Parking is prohibited in the front loop of the school tomorrow afternoon. Parents that are attending the concert are free to park at the Bethesda Baptist Church and the Lower Methodist Church lot. If your child is not a parent pick-up student, you will need to vacate those lots by 3 pm. Parents who normally line up for parent pick-up in those lots will need to delay their arrival until 3 pm as those lots will be full and cannot be blocked. Also, parents will not be permitted in the building until 1:20 pm as we will be cleaning up from lunch and the gym will not be free until that time. As you know, space is extremely limited. Please limit guests to immediate family. Thank you.

This is a Bison Herd Alert for 8th-grade parents: Kennywood permission slips are due Thursday, April 27th. NO permission slips will be accepted after 3 pm on Thursday. We have to have our final count and make our final payment to Kennywood at that time.
