Santa made a surprise visit as a brother, who has been deployed with the US Army for the past year, was reunited with his sister, a student at Mannington Middle School. Soldier Bryson Satterfield dressed as Santa and surprised his sister during a Christmas assembly today at MMS.

What does it feel like to be one of Santa’s helpers? Through Lowes, Billy Oliver brought in a toy kit for each kindergartener in White Hall’s Mrs. Jordan’s class to assemble. Each child received safety goggles and used hammer and nails to construct toys for “Santa’s workshop.”

Developing leaders and helping their community, the Fairmont Senior INTERACT Club, a part of Rotary International, organized a Christmas Angel Project this year. The Fairmont Senior club fundraised, purchased, and wrapped presents for needy youth in their community.

MCS has again been chosen to participate in the WV CARDIAC Project in collaboration with WVU Extension Service. In January more info will come home with students in K, 2 and 5.
