Turn It Up! Congratulations to the newest National Board Certified Teachers of Marion County Schools. They will be honored today at the board of education meeting as they join only 1,218 teachers across WV and more than 130,000 NBCTs nationally for this elite honor. The National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential that is based upon national standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do nation-wide. Not everyone who seeks the credential earns it, so MCS is particularly proud of Susan Conley and Sara Cornwell of West Fairmont Middle School and Heather Summers and Rebecca Walters of Fairmont Senior High School.

Tune In! Mannington Middle School's first Snowball Dance, sponsored by the PTO tonight. What a great time! The dance ended with a Snowball fight and good memories. ❄️💚

Turn It Up! Helping connect families with the right services and support. Marion County Schools counselors had a productive meeting at the Family Resource Network (FRN) today.
• Jan Smith (Director of FRN) shared various family resources available through the network.
• Susan Brennan Brooks (Behavioral Therapeutic Specialist, Healthy Minds) discussed mental health resources aimed at helping children in distress.
• Holly Blatt (BCBA) provided an overview of behavioral support services available to families.
By working together is crucial for ensuring that the services provided are aligned with best practices and meet the needs of families effectively.
