With the increase in students with autism across the nation, MCS is training staff on strategies. White Hall Elementary is spending their afternoon with Peggy Hovatter, Autism Specialist with the WV Autism Training Center, to learn ways to best serve their students with autism.

Fairview Elementary staff is spending the morning in professional development with Peggy Hovatter, Autism Specialist with the WV Autism Training Center, learning strategies and practices to best serve their students with autism.

Prickett’s Fort in beautiful Marion County is often busy with runners, history buffs, outdoor performances, kayakers and boaters. Add some STEAM to the mix! Teachers Margie Suder and Rachel Hulderman held a science event for grades K-3 students as part of Remake Learning.

Looking for something to do this Fall weekend? Pick up a book and learn of characters, unknown lands and heroes. Reading 20 minutes daily at home, means a child will hear 1.8 million words per year, read 851 hours by 6th grade, and will likely score better than 90% of peers.
