
In collaboration with East Park Elementary's Partners in Education, Fairmont Federal Credit Union made a monetary donation and supplies to start a "care closet" project that provides clothes to students in need at East Park.



The following Marion County Schools busses will not run morning or evening routes on Friday, November 3, 2023: 58 for East Fairmont feeder and 70 for North Marion feeder.

It was a steady flow of students and families visiting the 3rd Annual Marion County Schools Career, College, and Industry Fair and FAFSA sessions tonight. Thank you to all who came out to meet our students and answer questions.











Class 41 Leadership Marion visited our innovation in MCS STEAM Center today. The facility, built locally by Maintenance Department for grades 5-8, opened February 2022. The group of business and industry leaders also visited the addition to East Dale, opened in August 2023.









The career stage is set for students in grades 5 through 12 tonight at the 3rd Annual Marion County Career, College and Industry Fair, 5:00-7:00 pm, at the Fairmont Senior Field House. Representatives from area Colleges and Industries will be on hand to discuss career opportunities. Also, representatives from the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission will be conducting two free FASFA information sessions for parents.
The first session is scheduled to begin at 5:15 and the second will begin at 6:15. Both sessions will be in the Board meeting room of the Marion County Board Office.



Gov. Jim Justice announced WV has entered into a partnership with Tutor.com to provide expert online tutoring, test prep, and job support for West Virginia public library patrons across the state through a new program: TutorWV. The program is accessible via a dedicated website: TutorWV.com. Available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at no cost for WV, TutorWV provides support for patrons of all ages and stages. For students, the program offers online, on-demand, expert tutoring and homework help in more than 200 subjects, along with drop-off review services for essays and math problems. For test takers, TutorWV provides live tutoring help for standardized exams such as the GED®, ASVAB, and AP®. The program also offers self-guided resources: practice quizzes, video lessons, and test-preparation resources from The Princeton Review®, including SAT® and ACT® self-paced courses, MCAT® and LSAT® practice exams, and others. For jobseekers, the program offers live interview preparation, help with job searches and applications, and drop-off resume and cover letter review.


Marion County Schools welcomes Class 41 of Leadership Marion to our schools. The group consists of leaders in businesses and industry. Superintendent Dr. Heston and county office staff welcomed Class 41, which will visit 5 schools, STEAM Center, and an after school program today.
