Be the LIGHT at Lights On Afterschool tonight at East Park.






It was a TREAT at Lights On Afterschool at Blackshere tonight as the school partnered with PTO to do Trunk or Treat too.







Lights On Afterschool at Watson tonight was so bright! The kits were provided from Afterschool Alliance and there was a glow stick party.











The newest addition at Barrackville includes new window treatments with the school's Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports expectations. One more way to not only improve the looks of the building but also keeping our Bison Herd safe!






Barrackville 8th grade had a lesson in financial planning. With the help of WV Treasurer’s Office and volunteers, they learned first living on a budget. They learned how to stretch paychecks, provide for families, and needs over wants. The importance education was stressed too.











Amy Huff, Monongah Middle Cafeteria Manager, was interviewed by WDTV Channel 5 today as part of their Spotlight Series. Another one of our amazing team members with P.O.W.E.R. in Marion County Schools. Watch her tonight at 4:00 and 5:30 on WDTV.


What's that in the sky? Is it a bird? It's special visitors today, stopping by to see the students of Jayenne Elementary. Health Net and the crew touched down to see all students who got to visit, sit in the helicopter, learn about how they help the public and ask questions.





Another fine installation by the Marion County Schools Maintenance Department at East-West Stadium. All-weather seating for our student-athletes provided by the boosters of Fairmont Senior High School.

Curator, WV Department of Arts, Culture and History today as well for the band program at Rivesville.




Congratulations to students of Fairview Middle School, the latest recipients of a grant award from Chiho Feindler, Chief Program Officer, from VH1 Save The Music, and Randall Reid-Smith, Curator, WV Department of Arts, Culture and History. The grant provides band instruments.



Marion County aides including general education, special education, bus aides, ECCAT’s, and substitutes taking part in support sessions conducted by members of the Pupil Services today.


It was a great day of learning in the outdoors for East Fairmont Middle School's 6th graders, who attended the WVU Science Adventure Camp at Jackson's Mill.
